Kenseth wins at Las Vegas…again; Kahne 2nd this week…again:

#17-Matt Kenseth pretty much dominated the 2nd half of the UAW-Daimler-Chrysler 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, leading 123 of the 267 laps and winning his 2nd race in a row of the season and his 2nd race in a row at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. #9-Kasey Kahne, the pole sittter for the race, finished 2nd, the 2nd race in a row he has done that [Kenseth beat him at Rockingham also]. no photo finish this time [won by over 3 seconds]. Rounding out the top 5 were: #20-Tony Stewart, #42-Jamie McMurray and #6-Mark Martin. Kenseth alsi retauns the points lead and gets the $30,000 bonus for winning the race while being the points leader. Kenseth also lead at half-way, and picks up the halway bonus award for winning the race after leading halfway. #8-Earnhardt Jr. led the points coming into the race, but never had a good car all weekend and dropped out of the race, finishing 35th. #41-Casey Mears finished 7th, his first ever career top 10 in a Nextel Cup race [39th race].(see a story on ThatsRacin.com) See Results at ThatsRacin.com, MotorSportsOne and NASCAR.com.(3-7-2004)
