Kentucky Speedway says Dale Earnhardt Jr. is scheduled to test Dale Earnhardt Inc.’s No. 8 Chevrolet on Thursday. Earnhardt Jr. had announced Sunday afternoon that the team would test on the 1.5-mile track after a 35th-place finish in the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 that saw him fall from first to seventh in the Nextel Cup driver standings. “I know it’s going to be a black Monday at the shop, but I also know we’re going to do an awful lot of laps in testing this week at Kentucky to figure out what was wrong,” said Earnhardt Jr. The track says spectators are permitted to watch from the Turn 3 Fan Center.(NASCAR Scene Daily Newsletter)(3-9-2004)
