#21-Clint Bowyer won the pole for the Aaron’s 312 at Talladega Superspeedway with a speed 184.253. however BGNRacing.com is reporting there could be an engine problem with the #21 Chevy. The rest of the top five: #2-Ron Hornaday, #8-Martin Truex, Jr., #55-Robby Gordon and #20-Mike Bliss. Missing the race were #0-Gus Wasson and #03-Robby Benton. #81-Dale Earnhardt Jr. qualified 10th and Nashville winner #98-Michael Wallace is 11th.

AND Following post-qualifying inspections, NASCAR tossed the speeds of drivers #12-Tim Fedewa and #14-Casey Atwood, sending both to the rear of the field for Saturday’s race. NASCAR spokesman Rick Houston said the teams pushed the roof flaps up in an effort to have the air pushing on the car pass over and avoid the rear spoiler. NASCAR officials also had discussions with the crew chiefs of Bowyer and Hornaday over an undisclosed issue, but eventually both were announced as having passed inspection.(ThatsRacin.com)
