Biffle on the pole at Lowe’s:

#60-Greg Biffle took a big step toward his second consecutive Busch Series victory at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Biffle turned a lap at 183.542mph on Friday to claim the pole for Saturday’s Carquest 300 withstanding fast laps from rookie #5-Kyle Busch and Nextel Cup rookie #38-Kasey Kahne, who were second and third fastest, respectively. Biffle won last October’s race at the track in a car owned by Nextel Cup driver Joe Nemechek. This season, Biffle is in a Roush Racing entry and is running full-time schedules in both series. #21-Kevin Harvick and #87-Joe Nemechek rounded out the top five. Series points leader #8-Martin Truex Jr. was seventh fastest. Busch’s second place starting position will be his third consecutive on the front row. He won the pole for the series’ two most recent races, at Nazareth and Richmond. #29-Tony Stewart qualified sixth in the car owned by Kevin Harvick Inc. Stewart has two planned races with Harvick’s team, which also fields a full-time entry in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Joe Gibbs Racing driver #18-J.J. Yeley failed to qualify after wrecking during his qualifying laps, but will instead drive the #51 Chevrolet, replacing Dana White. Gibbs is providing the car and sponsor for White’s team.(ThatsRacin.com)
