BGNRacing.com has been told by various sources that Shelby Howard will be in the #35 Team Rensi Ford later this year. A team spokesperson neither confirmed nor denied the report. Howard, who turns 19 next week, started the season as the driver of the #23 Bill Davis Racing Toyota in the Craftsman Truck Series [and has since been released]. He has one career Busch Series start, a 20th place finish last year at Kansas.(BGNRacing.com)
UPDATE: Team Rensi Motorsports has announced plans to enter 18-year-old Shelby Howard in the team’s No. 35 Ford in the Aug. 7 Kroger 200 at Indianapolis Raceway Park and four other Busch Series events. Howard, who will be looking to make his second series start, will also drive for Team Rensi at Michigan, Richmond, Dover and Memphis.
