Andy Houston released from Ultra Motorsports UPDATE 2 McMurray at RIR:

Andy Houston has been released as the driver of the Ultra Motorsports prepared #2 Team ASE/CARQUEST Dodge. Houston, a 33 year-old native of Hickory, NC had three top-ten finishes in 16 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts this season. “Andy Houston is a great guy and a really good racer but it was time to make a change,” said Jim Smith, owner of Ultra Motorsports. “Andy came in last year and helped move this team in a positive direction after we had a driver change. He helped the Team ASE/CARQUEST Dodge keep its momentum at the end of last year and all of us had high hopes for this year. Unfortunately, for all of us, we are not where we want to be from a competition standpoint and it is time to move forward.” Ultra Motorsports has not yet named a replacement for Houston but will do so leading up to the Kroger 200 at Richmond International Raceway on Thursday September 9th.(Ultra Motorsports site)(8-28-2004)
