#38-Kasey Kahne denied #5-Kyle Busch the chance Thursday to repeat his dominant weekend performance in May at Richmond International Raceway. Busch, 19, won the pole and the NASCAR Busch Series race in May, and tried to kick off a repeat performance this weekend but Kahne’s lap at 127.678 mph in the #38 Dodge slid Busch into the second starting position. #55-Robby Gordon was third, #46-Ashton Lewis Jr. fourth and #21-Kevin Harvick completed the top five. Series points leader #8-Martin Truex Jr. will start seventh. The pole is Kahne’s first of the season and second of his Busch career. His first came in August of last year at Michigan. Busch teams lost their final practice session Thursday night because of a compacted schedule. Rain delayed the start of Thursday’s on-track activity. Teams were allowed to work on their cars overnight.(ThatsRacin.com), failing to make the race, were 11 drivers, including: #31-Todd Bodine, #44-Justin Labonte, #75-Jay Sauter, #71-Kevin Lepage, #39-Tina Gordon.
