#24-Travis Kvapil won the pole for the American Racing Wheels 200 at California Speedway with a track record of 178.669mph, beating out former teammate, #5-Mike Skinner by almost a mile-per-hour. #5-Skinner ran a lap of 177.708 and will start 2nd, followed by #17-David Reutimann, #21-Hank Parker Jr. and last weeks winner, #15-Shane Hmiel. Points leader, #4-Bobby Hamilton will start 33rd using a provisional after discovering a broken timing belt while waiting to qualify.
TO THE BACK: Pole SItter #24-Travis Kvapil will start in a back-up truck after cutting a right front tire and hitting the wall in turn 1 on the last lap in happy hour.(Truckseries.com)
