Jimmy Spencer will pilot the #74 Outdoor Channel Chevrolet for BACE Motorsports when the team returns to action at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Team owner Bill Baumgardner tabbed Spencer for the #74 ride in an effort to give the BACE camp a different dynamic for the 2004 stretch run. “For BACE, the time is now,” said Baumgardner. “We’ve been quiet for way too long, and we’re taking this opportunity to shake things up and serve notice that BACE remains a strong option for corporations looking to invest in Busch Series sponsorship.” BACE is looking for the right combination to return to victory lane, as the three-time Busch Series Champions continue their search for a full-time corporate partner to replace The Outdoor Channel in 2005. Historically, Spencer has been a force to reckon with at Charlotte. Along with his win in the 1997 Charlotte race, “Mr. Excitement” has posted six Top-5s and 10 Top-10 finishes at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. “I’m looking forward to being back in a Busch car at Charlotte,” said Spencer. “BACE has a strong supporting cast in place, and the success they’ve experienced in the Busch Series over the years speaks for itself. It’s a great feeling to know that I’m going to climb behind the wheel and be competitive immediately. I’ve worked with Mark Tutor (crew chief) successfully in the past, and it’ll be fun to race for a win with him under the lights right here in Charlotte.”(BACE Motorsports PR)(10-8-2004)
