ppc Racing may scale back its [#22] Busch Series program in 2005 as the organization does not have a sponsor at this time to run current Busch driver Jason Keller full-time. ppc is running a full-time Nextel Cup program next season with driver [#14] John Andretti, who will also run a partial Busch schedule for the team. Since ppc has no sponsor for a full-time Busch team the sponsor for its current Busch team, Miller High Life, is leaving for Rusty Wallace Inc. next season it has told Keller he is free to find a ride with another team. “We are not saying that Jason Keller is not in our plans for the 2005 season,” says ppc car owner Greg Pollex. “If a sponsor comes along that is looking for a veteran driver, then he would definitely be under consideration. It wouldn’t be fair to him or a sponsor if he ran a limited schedule and had to leave mid-year to take a full-time ride. We’re trying to be fair to him and do what’s right for all parties involved in this situation.”(ThatsRacin.com)(10-8-2004)
UPDATE: Greg Pollex, owner of ppc Racing, says he’s looking for a Busch Series sponsor for next year following Miller High Life’s decision not return for 2005. The beer company sponsored the team’s #22 Ford for Jason Keller for 19 of the 34 races this year. The team plans to run a limited Busch program with John Andretti, who will drive its Nextel Cup entry, and hopes to find a sponsor for a second car that would run the full schedule.(NASCAR Scene Daily Newsletter)(10-14-2004)
