Shane Sieg said he gave up his ride in the #07 Chevrolet on the Craftsman Truck Series in hopes of finding a more competitive truck. He was 15th in points after finishing 11th at St. Louis on July 17, but dropped to 19th before leaving the Bobby Dotter-owned team two weeks ago. Since July, his best qualifying effort was 32nd, and his top finish was 18th. “I was just going to the tracks and riding around,” Sieg said. “I want to at least be able to race in the top 15.” He plans to meet with several team owners over the next few days and is optimistic he’ll be back on the circuit before the end of the season. “I can do better than what we were doing,” he said.(AJC)(10-15-2004)
