Cline’s team gets a name:

The new NASCAR Busch Series team with driver Troy Cline, owned by Les Lyons and Rick Russell, now has a name: LR2 Motorsports. Lyons and Russell held a contest to name the new team, and the winning entry was submitted by Randy Shreiner of McDonough, GA. The name is perfect, and is very similar to what we were thinking before we decided to have a contest, said LR2 Motorsports co-owner Rick Russell. For winning the contest, Shreiners name will appear on the TV panel of Clines car during its first race weekend. Randy will also receive a framed, autographed photo of Troy Cline featuring the car with his name on the TV panel. Cline said, Its great that we already have this level of fan involvement at such an early stage. We look for that to continue. LR2 co-owner Les Lyons added, I m amazed at the response we had to our Name The Team contest, and would like to thank all the fans for their support. Were anxious to get to the track! Russell says that early talks regarding sponsorship have been encouraging. Nothing has been signed yet, but the interest is out there. Im confident that Troys ability, combined with the resources we have available, make an attractive package for a sponsor, he says. LR2 Motorsports and driver Troy Cline plan to run a limited schedule in the NASCAR Busch Series in 2005. Clines schedule, car number, and other details will be announced during January. The team continues to seek primary sponsorship. Inquiries may be directed to Rick Russell, 329-A Rolling Hill Road, Mooresville, NC 28117.
