Longtime NASCAR crew chief Gere Kennon, who recently was general manager at Innovative Motorsports in the Craftsman Truck Series, has joined Michael Waltrip Racing. Kennon’s primary focus is MWR’s Busch Series effort, but he was at Daytona last week overseeing Waltrip’s Nextel Cup program with driver Kenny Wallace.(FoxSports/Sporting News)(1-17-2005)
