Paul Wolfe is preparing for a 22-race NASCAR Busch Series season driving the #6 Hungry Drivers Dodge, owned by Evernham Motorsports, and you can bet that he has set high expectations for his break-out season. At the top of the list – the 2005 Rookie of the Year honors. In the recent test session at Daytona International Speedway, Wolfe and his Hungry Drivers team posted the third quickest lap time overall during the three-day test. Elton Sawyer was hand picked by Ray Evernham to lead Wolfe and the Hungry Drivers team, Evernham Motorsports’ first full time Busch Series effort. Sawyer competed successfully in the NASCAR Busch Series for over twenty years. To date, he is ranked second in all time starts among past and present NASCAR Busch Series drivers with 392 starts. Last season, Wolfe was one of four young drivers in the Hungry Drivers Racing program, sponsored by Unilever Foods brands Ragu, Hellmann’s and Country Crock. The program was designed to give four drivers from various racing backgrounds the opportunity to compete in three races each on the NASCAR Busch Series circuit and prove themselves worthy of being named as primary driver of the #6 Hungry Drivers Dodge for the 2005 season. In three starts, Wolfe posted two top-20 finishes, including 18th place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and a team high 12th place at New Hampshire International Raceway. Impressed with his performance, Wolfe was named the primary driver of the #6 Dodge for the 2005 season. In its second year, the Hungry Drivers program has partnered with Evernham Motorsports for the 2005 NASCAR season. The program gives up and coming “hungry drivers” the opportunity of a lifetime – a chance to get behind the wheel of the NASCAR Busch Series #6 Dodge and prove their talent to the racing world.(919 Marketing/Hungry Drivers PR), more info on the program at hungrydrivers.com.(2-8-2005)
