Mac Hill Motorsports announced that Lester Buildings, one of the nation’s largest manufacturers of engineered buildings, has joined the team as the primary sponsor on their #56 NASCAR Busch Series entry for the 2005 season. The sponsorship includes 19 races, starting with the Hershey’s TAKE 5 300 on February 19, 2005 at Daytona International Speedway. NBS veteran Tim Sauter has been chosen to drive the Lester Buildings Chevrolet, with Todd Myers assuming Crew Chief duties. The sponsorship will bring three efforts under one roof. Lester Buildings sponsored Sauter’s 2004 ASA efforts, which included a 6th place finish in the overall standings and a victory at Madison International Raceway in July. In addition to his ASA duties, Sauter has made 16 Busch Series starts with Mac Hill Motorsports over the past two seasons. So, when the ASA circuit fell upon hard times after the 2004 season, Lester Buildings, Tim Sauter and Mac Hill Motorsports made the perfect combination for 2005. Sauter, who has 71 NASCAR Busch Series starts in his career, will return to the NBS, where he finished 13th in the overall standings in 2002, driving the AP Performance #19 Chevrolet. Last season, he competed full-time on the ASA circuit with sponsorship from Lester Buildings, finishing 6th in the final season standings as well as taking the victory at Madison International Speedway in July. Lester Buildings and Mac Hill Motorsports are confirming sponsorship activation plans which currently include a Busch series-exclusive building sweepstakes in which one lucky fan will win a 1,200 square foot Lester hobby/storage building, valued at approximately $30,000 in a season-end drawing. An exclusive Racing Community rebate offer of 50 cents per square foot, which can, as an example, save $2,000 on a 50′ x 80′ building, will also be an ongoing facet of the sponsorship. Activation will be through track/event advertising and the internet, including the team’s recently unveiled website: www.machillmotorsports.com.
