Earnhardt wins the pole:

#15-Kerry Earnhardt won the first pole of his short Truck Series career by winning the pole for the Florida Dodge Dealers 250 at the Daytona International Speedway, with a lap of 182.478mph. Earnhardt was followed by #46-Dennis Setzer, #12-Robert Huffman, #22-Bill Lester and #13-Tracy Hines. The highest qualifying Ford was #50-Todd Kluever who will start 11th. #04-Bobby Hamilton took the champions provisional while Casey Atwood, who is running the #4 [which is #1 in owners points and guaranteed a spot in the race] qualified 34th.
Some surprises who missed the race include: #52-Mike Wallace [24th fastest]; #63-J.R. Patton; #45-Rick Markle; #38-David Ragan; #31-Jason Rudd; #48-Derrike Cope.
