#48-Jimmie Johnson won the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, leading the most laps and dominating the last half of the race. Johnson also leaves Las Vegas with the drivers points lead and won the $30,000 NASCAR Nextel Cup Leader Bonus award for winning the race and leading the points. The rest of the top five were rookie #5-Kyle Busch, #97-Kurt Busch, #24-Jeff Gordon and #29-Kevin Harvick
