There are five races on the 2005 Busch Series schedule that are going to require someone other the Carl Edwards to be behind the wheel of the #60 Charter Communications Ford Taurus. That someone will be Hank Parker, Jr. and he is set to fill in for Edwards when his NEXTEL Cup Series obligations prevent him from being in two places at one time. Ideally Parker will only be needed to practice and qualify the car at times, but consequentially he will have to race if weather prevents Edwards from making it to a Busch Series event. Currently there are no scheduling conflicts that would keep Edwards from taking the green flag.
The current NEXTEL Cup and Busch Series schedules present five race challenges for the #60 Team. The first one starting June, 12th at Nashville followed consecutively by Kentucky and Milwaukee. Then Parker assists with Pikes Peak on July 24th and Memphis on October 23rd. Each event has a different set of circumstances and Edwards, Parker and Crew Chief Brad Parrott are coming up with a game plan to make sure they are prepared for each race. They definitely have their challenges. It becomes very tricky when Edwards starts criss-crossing the nation from Milwaukee to Sonoma and from Pocono to Pikes Peak.(Roush Racing)(5-13-2005)
