#9-Kasey Kahne won the pole for the Chevy American Revolution 400 at Richmond International Raceway with a near track record lap of 129.964 [record is 129.983 set last May], for his 2nd Budweiser pole of 2005 and 6th career pole, he also won the pole for the Busch race tonight. It is also Kahne’s 2nd pole in a row [he won the pole at Darlingto last week] and he is the first driver ever to win the pole for both the Busch Series race and Cup race at Richmond. #12-Ryan Newman just missed the pole with the backup car and will start 2nd, followed by #20-Tony Stewart, #97-Kurt Busch and #38-Elliott Sadler. Missing the race: #38-Lepage, #34-Fuller, #27-Shelmerdine and #00-Long who wrecked his backup car on his first lap but drove the car to the garage.
