Crawford holds off on Cup deal:

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series racer #14-Rick Crawford said Ford officials talked to him about running a few Nextel Cup races later this season, but Crawford decided against it. “It takes about $125,000 to build just one of those cars, not including the engine,” Crawford said at TMS Tuesday. “But that car is going to be obsolete in a year. I didn’t think the timing was right to do it.” Crawford is talking about NASCAR’s plans for the so-called “Car of Tommorow.” It’s a redesigned body that all the Cup teams will use by 2007.(Dallas Morning News)(5-27-2005)
