Ramblings – Pocono:

Michael Waltrip had a really good qualifying month of June in 1991. Just a mere 14 years later, he’s at it again!
Mikey got his 3rd career Bud Pole today at Pocono Raceway, and it came via a speed of 169.052 (53.238 sec). He won two poles waaaaaay back in June of 1991, at Dover and at Michigan in the #30 Bahari Pennzoil Pontiac. He also becomes the 9th qualifier for next February’s Budweiser Shootout at Daytona.
He’ll lead us to the green for the Pocono 500 will Kurt Busch alongside.
Brian Vickers (3rd) has his best starting spot since he had the outside pole at California in February.
Jamie McMurray (4th) has his best starting spot since he had the outside pole at Martinsville in April of 2004.
Jeremy Mayfield (6th) has his best starting spot since he had the outside pole at Texas in April.
Scott Wimmer (11th) has his career-best starting spot this week. His previous best was 14th at Darlington in March of 2004!
Ken Schrader (19th) has his best starting spot since he lined up 11th at Martinsville in April.
Greg Sacks (41st) makes his first Nextel Cup start of the season on Sunday. We last saw Greg in action at Homestead last November when he started 34th and finished 42nd.
