Bobby Labonte will drive the #47 Chevrolet Silverado at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) in the Paramount Heath Insurance 200. The June 18, 2005, race will be the 2000 NASCAR Cup Series champion’s third NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) race of the season. In his two previous starts, Labonte finished second in March at Atlanta Motor Speedway and captured his first NCTS victory at Martinsville in April. With the victory in March, Labonte became the first driver in NASCAR history to win a race in each of the top-three major divisions at Martinsville [or a race won at the same track in each series]. A trip to the NCTS victory lane Saturday will give Labonte that record at MIS as well. The Corpus Christi, Texas, native has one NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) win and three NASCAR NEXTEL (NNCS) Cup Series wins at the 2-mile superspeedway located in the Irish Hills of South-Central Michigan. In 30 NBS and NNCS, Labonte’s MIS record is nothing short of amazing. He has four wins, three poles, nine top-three, 12 top-five and 20 top-10 finishes.(GM PR)(6-16-2005)
