Speed Channel Chase Show starts Sept 15th:

SPEED Channel will debut The Chase is On Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. ET, offering a weekly preview of the 10 races making up NASCAR’s Chase for the NEXTEL Cup. Veteran motor sports broadcaster Ralph Sheheen will host the new show, with 1999 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series champion Dale Jarrett serving as the expert analyst. “The Chase is On will be a concise, fast-paced look at the Chase for the NEXTEL Cup,” said Chris Long, SPEED Channel VP of Studio Production. “The show will provide in-depth analysis of each driver qualified for the Chase, breaking down their career performances at each of the last 10 tracks. The show will be about strategies, statistics and any late-breaking news developments – the excitement leading into each event of the Chase for the NEXTEL Cup will begin Thursday nights on SPEED Channel.” Jarrett brings the experience of being in a title race, having finished among the top five in the series championship five times. Heading into this weekend’s race in Michigan, the former champ sits just outside the Top 10 with four events remaining before the Chase field is set.
“I am really thrilled about being part of the new The Chase is On television series on SPEED Channel,” Jarrett said. “It will be fun keeping up with how the Chase participants fare each week at the different venues. Hopefully, we will be one of those in contention for the championship. The show will provide a great opportunity for me to get some additional TV experience and I think it will be very exciting for the fans as we critique each of the 10 events that will decide the 2005 NEXTEL Cup Champion.”(SPEED Channel PR)(8-19-2005)
