Newman wins pole at Dover:

#12-Ryan Newman won the Budweiser Pole for the MBNA RacePoints 400 at Dover International Speedway with a fast lap of 158.102mph for his 6th pole of 2005 and 33rd of his career. #9-Kasey Kahne starting 2nd, followed by #5-Kyle Busch, #8-Dale Earnhardt Jr. and #48-Jimmie Johnson. The best qualifying Ford was the #6 of Mark Martin at 7th. Points leader, #20-Tony Stewart qualified 31st. #32-Bobby Hamilton Jr. was the highest non top-35 team, who had to get in based on speed, qualifying 8th. Missing the race were: #89-Shepherd, #92-Sadler, #08-McGlynn, #34-McCarthy and #75-Anderson [who didn’t make an attempt].(9-23-2005)
