UPDATE: The Robby Gordon eBay auction for the helmet Gordon wore during Sunday’s NASCAR Nextel Cup Series race at New Hampshire International Speedway will be reinstated at 10:00pm/et on Wed, Sept 21st [have it up on my Charities page]. Officials at Robby Gordon Motorsports, along with representatives of eBay, conferred on Wednesday afternoon and chose to allow Auction Cause, an on-line auction expert that assists non-profit organizations in maximizing fundraising efforts, to manage the process. Most notably, Auction Cause has the ability to properly pre-qualify bidders on the eBay site. The original bidding exceeded $10 million on Wednesday, and given the traffic on the site, it was difficult to determine the validity of all the bidders. The new auction will end on Saturday evening.(9-21-0005)
AND Robby Gordon and Michael Waltrip were on Speed Channel’s Trackside and Mikey signed the helmet and both drivers apologized for thier part in the incidents at New Hampshire. Today is the final day to bid on the helmet until around 10:10pm/et.(9-24-2004)
UPDATE 3: the final winning bid was $51,100.00.(9-25-2005)
