Mike Garvey, R&J Racing team up at Charlotte: Mike Garvey will drive the #37 BoSPOKER.net Dodge for R&J Racing in this Saturday nights UAW-GM 500 at the Lowes Motor Speedway, team owner Roger Craven said. Garvey, from McDonough, Ga., will complete the all-Georgia team. R&J Racing owners John Carter and Roger Craven live in Toccoa, Ga. While the race shop is in Concord, N.C., the teams business office is in Georgia. Garvey replaces Tony Raines, whos taking a two-week leave of absence from the team. Raines will skip this Saturdays race and the Subway 500 at the Martinsville Speedway on Oct. 23. Raines has commitments with his Busch Series program that prompted his decision. While he doesnt know what the future may bring, Garvey said every race is a chance to audition. Every race is a chance for you to show what you can do, he said. You never know what might come out of a race. A good run can open some doors. Thats what makes an opportunity like this so exciting.(R&J Racing PR)(10-12-2005)
