Former Attorney General and Republican gubernatorial nominee Jerry Kilgore will sponsor the “Virginians for Jerry Kilgore” car at Martinsville Speedway’s Nextel Cup Subway 500 Sunday as Virginia native Hermie Sadler will drive the #66 Ford Taurus powered by Roush-Yates racing. The Kilgore campaign logo has been featured on two other Nextel Cup cars this season, but this will mark the first time Kilgore’s campaign has been the primary sponsor of a car. This is believed to be the first time ever a statewide candidate anywhere in the country has been the primary sponsor of a Nextel Cup car.
