Timmy Hill stepping back as team owner

Timmy Hill announced on Friday that he will be stepping out of his role as team owner to focus strictly on being a driver. Hill made the post Friday morning prior to CRAFTSMAN Truck Series activities at Martinsville Speedway.

“A new chapter is ahead. Martinsville will be my final scheduled race as a team owner. I’m incredibly grateful for the people, memories, and support we’ve had,” Hill wrote.

“For now, my focus shifts back to where it all started, driving. Those plans coming soon. Excited for what’s next!”

AND: The current iteration of Hill Motorsports began in the series in 2019, with Hill and his brother Tyler the team’s primary driver.

Over its eight years, the team scored two top fives and 10 top 10s, with a highest finish of second at Talladega Superspeedway in 2021.

While Hill’s announcement likely indicates the closure of the organization, Hill did not explicitly state that the team itself is shutting down.
