Edwards wins pole at Homestead:

#99-Carl Edwards, 3rd in The Chase, won the Budweiser Pole for the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, for his 2nd pole of the season and his career. #12-Ryan Newman will start 2nd, followed by #9-Kasey Kahne, #5-Kyle Busch and #6-Mark Martin. Points leader by 52 points, #20-Tony Stewart will start 20th and 2nd in points, #48-Jimmie Johnson starts way back in 32nd. #09-Reed Sorenson was the highest non top-35 team and will start 15th. #15-Michael Waltrip and #11-Denny Hamlin both wrecked on their qualifying laps and have to go to backup cars. Five drivers failed to make the race: #92-Chad Chaffin, #00-Derrike Cope, #51-Mike Garvey, #89-Morgan Shepherd, #80-Carl Long. Long wrecked on his first lap and Shepherd spun before taking the green flag, was on the 5-minute clock, but couldn’t get tires before the clock ran out.
