UPDATE 2 – Baldwin teaming up with Yates? hearing that Tommy Baldwin, former #9 Crew Chief for Kasey Kahne, will go to Robert Yates Racing in some fashion, crew chief/part owner. Also has been rumored that a current one car operation, such as #50 Arnold Motorsports or #66 Peak Performance could partner up with RYR, which could include ownership by Baldwin, something that was mentioned in the Evernham Motorsports release on Tuesday [see below or the #9 Team News and Links page for more on that]. Cabela’s is the sponsor on the #66 car this week and have heard it could become a full-time sponsor in 2006. Expect some sort of announcement this weekend at Homestead.(11-17-2005)

MORE II: Tommy Baldwin’s future plans apparently include a cooperative effort with Robert Yates Racing. It was announced earlier this week that Baldwin, who has been Kasey Kahne’s crew chief at Evernham Motorsports, was leaving that team. UPDATE 100: on Speed Channel’s NASCAR This Morning, Bob Dilner said Baldwins plans to start his own Cup team, but not until the 2007 season…not sure what his 2006 plans may be, but still hearing it’ll be with Yates.(11-20-2005)
