McGlynn Racing & Cope partner with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: McGlynn Racing and former Daytona 500 winner Derrike Cope have partnered, for the 2006 NEXTEL Cup season, with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the fight against childhood cancer. The partnership includes a commitment from McGlynn Racing to raise national awareness and funds for St. Jude – the world’s premier pediatric cancer research center – through its driver, team and sponsors. As a component of the partnership, McGlynn Racing will display a St. Jude logo on its cars [currently #00] throughout the season. Cope, a veteran of more than 400 NASCAR races and the team’s primary driver, will also make visits to St. Jude during the NASCAR race season to interact with the patients. “I am very pleased to have St. Jude involved with our organization,” says Cope. “They have a dynamic facility that touches so many children and their families.
