Trucks headed to wind tunnel:

NASCAR impounded four trucks to take to the wind tunnel for testing next week following Friday’s running of the Quaker Steak & Lube 200 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. In a rare occurrence, NASCAR did not let crew members touch any of the trucks immediately following the race. That was so NASCAR could inspect the vehicles for body damage before deciding which trucks to take to the wind tunnel, said Robin Pemberton, NASCAR vice president for competition. “We parked them so we could evaluate the bodies,” Pemberton said. “We picked the ones that didn’t have damage.” The trucks NASCAR will take to the wind tunnel will be the #98 Evernham Motorsports Dodge of Erin Crocker, the #30 Germain Racing Toyota of Todd Bodine, the #10 ppc Racing Ford of Terry Cook and the #33 Kevin Harvick Inc. Chevry of Ron Hornaday. (scenedaily.com)(5-20-2006)
