Terry Cook is poised to tie Rick Crawford’s Truck Series 209-race consecutive start record this weekend at Kansas Speedway. Cook, who drives the ppc Racing Ford, started competing part time in the series in 1996 and then went full time in 1998. “I have never missed a race to this date since then,” he said. “You look at things like what Cal Ripken did – he broke the all-time consecutive games played record in the major leagues – and you sit back and think that’s a pretty big honor and a pretty big deal. And now to be in that position in the Truck Series, having a series that’s now in its 12th season, that in itself is a pretty big deal and a pretty big honor as well.” (scenedaily.com)(6-29-2006)
