UPDATE: JR Motorsports officials say that Shane Huffman will compete in a second Chevy for the team for this weekend’s Busch Series race at Gateway. Huffman will join Mark McFarland’s #88 Chevrolet with his #83 Chevrolet for the event. It’s the first of five races he will attempt for the team this season.(SceneDaily.com)(7-26-2006)
UPDATE: The #83 Chevy carries the Make A Wish Foundation into its Busch Series debut. One of the best things I do at the track is meet the kids through Make A Wish, Earnhardt Jr. stated. Once I met that first child, I wanted to do anything I could to make sure all of the children get their wishes granted. We got together with Make A Wish a few years ago and started the Dale Jr. Sports Celebrity Auction to help with funding to make those wishes come true. Each year it grows. The first year we threw my boat on Ebay. Last year, we had Emmit Smith, coach Roy Williams and others coming together to help out. This year, weve done a one-off chopper with The Cycle Exchange; Tony Stewart and a bunch others are coming to help out and Shanes running a Busch car to remind everyone to mark their calendar to be there October 24th.(JR Motorsports PR)(7-26-2006)
