#29-Kevin Harvick won the AMD at the Glen, Watkins Glen International for his 1st road course win, 2nd win of 2006 and 7th of his career. Harvick made a nice pass of #20-Tony Stewart with 7 laps to go, Stewart ended up 2nd, followed by #26-Jamie McMurray, #7-Robby Gordon [1st top 5 of the year], #99-Carl Edwards, #40-Scott Pruett, #38-Elliott Sadler [could be last run in the #38, also went off course in the kitty litter on lap 4, but recovered], #12-Ryan Newman [was 9th the first results, then 31st..now back to 8th], #5-Kyle Busch [was 5 laps down and got 5 lucky dog passes…a record] and #11-Denny Hamlin [#60-Boris Said was dropped from 6th to 31st]. The front row starters didn’t do too well, Pole sitter #2-Kurt Busch was leading on lap 53 and headed to the pits just as the 6th caution came out, Busch was 2 feet from the line when the stop light came on, Busch kept going and made his pit stop [he would had driven thru, there would had been no penalty] and was penalized after his pit stop then was sent to the end of the longest line at the restart, which was 40th at the time, for pitting when pit road was closed. Busch was running 11th with a lap to go and got tangled up in one of the last lap incidents and finished 18th. The outside pole sitter, #9-Kasey Kahne got into Busch on the 1st lap, fell back was running in the top 15 late in the race until on the final lap got off course and into the litter and finished 22nd. keeping him 11th in the points. #8-Dale Earnahrdt Jr. started 11th, but was never much of a factor but finished 18th and held on to 10th in the points. There were 11 leaders with 14 lead changes and a record 10 cautions for 22 laps.
