Hearing #4-Scott Wimmer is looking for a ride next season, as his contract with the #4-Morgan-McClure Motorsports team is a one-year deal thru 2006. Wimmer has fielded some offers from a couple of “pretty good” Busch Series teams, but hasn’t committed to anything yet.(7-31-2006)
UPDATE: Wimmer, who made his Nextel Cup debut in 2000, has qualified for 18 of the 21 [Cup] races this year. He said the Morgan-McClure Motorsports team does not have a sponsor for next season. Wimmer said he could end up in the Busch Series next year. “I don’t have anything solid,” Wimmer said. “I’m just trying to work sponsors and everything else like everybody is. It’s been a little bit of a worry because we’re getting towards the end of the season here and a lot of people have their stuff locked up and I’m still sitting with nothing.”(SceneDaily.com)(8-20-2006)
