Burney Lamar was the Raybestos Rookie of the Race in the Ameriquest 300 at California, grabbing a 14th-place finish. Lamar took Raybestos Rookie of the Race honors for the eighth time this season and was the only first-year driver to finish on the lead lap. John Andretti leads Lamar by six points (191-187) in the Raybestos Rookie standings entering the Emerson Radio 250 at Richmond.
