Mike Skinner, driving the #5 Toyota Tundra-sponsored Toyota, was fastest overall during this morning’s second official practice session in preparation for this evening’s Smith’s Las Vegas 350. Skinner’s lap of 30.216 sec./178.713 mph was even quicker than his best lap in this morning’s first session (30.505 sec./177.020 mph) and ran nearly four miles per hour faster than the Nextel Cup Series record of 174.904 mph, set by Kasey Kahne in 2004 – and more than 13 miles per hour faster than the Trucks Series record (165.320 mph, set by Mike Skinner in 2004). Todd Bodine, winner of the 2005 Smith’s Las Vegas 350, is was second at 30.327 sec./178.059 mph. Chase Miller, who led both of last night’s testing sessions, third at 30.469 sec./177.229 mph.
