UPDATE: Scott Wimmer, who tested the Richard Childress Racing #33 Nextel Cup car earlier this week and stood atop the RCR #29 hauler during qualifying Friday at Martinsville, seems destined to join the organization next season. Neither Wimmer nor an RCR spokesman would confirm Wimmer’s hiring.
