#12-Ryan Newman returned to his open-wheel roots Wednesday night and emerged victorious in the South Georgia Motorsports Park 100. The event, part of the Premier Racing Associations Silver Crown series, featured Silver Crown Big Cars and NASCAR drivers Ken Schrader, Dave Blaney and Newman. Newman, driving the No. 192 car, qualified second earlier in the day with a time of 17.169 seconds, just behind series point leader Chet Fillip. However, the PRAs Silver Crown series mixes things up a bit by inverting the top six. The qualifiers must draw for their spot after qualifying and after the selection, Newman moved back one spot to third, while Fillip was relegated to sixth. Marc Jessup began up front. After a brief autograph session with all of the drivers, the 100-lap race began with Newman quickly moving into second in the races opening laps.(Penske Racing PR)(10-27-2006)
