Frustrated by a lack of competitiveness and “a lot of (expletive deleted),” Tim Sauter will be on the move again next season. The 41-year-old member of the NASCAR Busch Series racing clan from Necedah, Wis., ranks 25th in points, having qualified for 24 of 26 races. The two he missed were punishment from the #36-McGill Motorsports, Sauter said, for his part in the having illegal shock absorbers on the team’s car at Gateway. Goal #1 is to contend again and to make a decent living. If Sauter or an owner could supplement his partial sponsorship from Lester Buildings, he believes they could at least make a couple of waves in Busch or the Craftsman Truck Series.(Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel)(9-1-2006)
UPDATE: The Sams Town 250 was the last race for Sauter and McGill Motorsports, who will go separate ways with three races to go in the season.(Lester Buildings PR)(10-31-2006)
UPDATE 2: Sponsor Lester Buildings said it planned to support Sauter next season, though with another team. “We don’t have anything signed for next year yet but we should have some things finalized shortly,” Lester Building Vice President Larry Lembrich said.(SceneDaily.com)(11-1-2006)
