[17 year old Joe Gibbs development driver Joey] Logano has wheeled every kind of racing vehicle imaginable in the last few years, including a short stint in a Mark Martin Racing Pro Series Truck. After spending time with Logano, Martin said the youngster was fully capable of racing a Nextel Cup car. Martin made that statement almost two years ago. A driver must be 18 to race in a NASCAR national series (Nextel, Busch, truck), so Logano is getting as much big-track experience as possible before he becomes of age. When this kid gets a big-league NASCAR license, he’s expected to quickly blossom into a big-time racing driver. “I know they’ve been talking about a Busch car next year sometime,” Logano said. “Not real sure when or what car I’m going to drive yet. I know I have a long-term relationship with Gibbs. We’ll see how it goes.”(Daytona Beach News-Journal)(5-30-2007)
