It never hurts to have Mother Nature on your side…. Dale Earnhardt Jr took advantage of a shower cooled race track today at Pocono Raceway and took the Bud Pole for Sunday’s Pennsylvania 500 with a time of 52.949 sec (169.975 mph). It’s the 7th career top-spot for Little E, but his first since Kansas in September of 2002! Jr (who will be joined on the front row by Kurt Busch) becomes the 12th driver to qualify for next February’s Budweiser Shootout at Daytona. A slim “Best Sinces” this week….Ricky Rudd has his best starting spot since he lined up 7th at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in May. STREAKIN….Dale Earnhardt Jr has 5 Top-10 starts in the last 6 races. With all the consolidations, buy-outs, mergers (or whatever they’re calling it this week), we were down to only 47 cars on hand today. The Trouble Train has Mike Bliss, A J Allmendinger, Kevin Lepage, and Kenny Wallace in tow this week.(Stock Car Fans)(8-3-2007)
