The #42 Chip Ganassi Racing Busch Series team won’t run again this season after the race next week at Watkins Glen International. The team was started last year to help in the development of Nextel Cup driver Juan Pablo Montoya in his transition from Formula One. The No. 42 Busch Series team will be used for testing and have other duties in the team shop. Crew chief Brian Pattie signed a long-term contract last year.(SceneDaily.com)(8-4-2007)
UPDATE: Chip Ganassi Racing will keep its #42 Busch Series team running after all and has entered Kevin Hamlin as the car’s driver in this weekend’s Carfax 250 at Michigan. Brian Pattie remains as crew chief for the team. The team decided to give Hamlin more seat time and will run the car on a “week-to-week” basis.(SceneDaily.com)(8-17-2007)
