Veteran NASCAR driver Mike Bliss is scheduled to appear in the Big Apple on October 9 and 10 to show support for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and CancerCare, a national nonprofit which provides free support services for people affected by cancer. Bliss will not be alone. He is coming with a replica of the car that he will be driving in the NASCAR Busch Series Race in Concord, North Carolina on October 12. That car, owned by Fitz Motorsports and sponsored by Family Dollar, will be painted pink and will have information about CancerCare on its hood. This is the first time both Family Dollar and Fitz Motorsports have given such a public exhibition of their support for people touched by breast cancer. Their generosity will not end there. Family Dollar will offer an array of products bearing the pink ribbon for breast cancer awareness in each of their 6,400 stores, raising an extra $50,000 for the nonprofit.(Fitz Motorsports PR)(8-31-2007)
