Hall of Fame Racing driver Tony Raines, who will not drive the #96 next season as J.J. Yeley takes over, said he knows the chances of earning a Cup ride in 2008 are slim. He hopes to drive in one of NASCAR’s other series. “I’m disappointed, but I understand the decision,” said Raines, who ran into Jeff Green on the eighth lap of Saturday’s race and finished 35th. “When you don’t have the results that are expected, changes are made. It’s tough, but that’s what happens.”(Dallas Morning News)(9-10-2007)
