Gilmore falls ill, hospitalized, released UPDATE:

SPEED qualifying coverage reported that DEI’s VP of Competition Richie Gilmore, was taken to a Birmingham, AL hospital for a possible stroke, but was later diagnosed as an aneurysm. Gilmore was released and is headed in NC.(SPEED qualifying coverage)(10-6-2007) UPDATE: Dale Earnhardt, Inc. vice president Richie Gilmore has been treated and released from a Birmingham, Ala. hospital after suffering what has been diagnosed as a minor aneurysm. Gilmore suffered stroke-like symptoms on Friday and was taken to Birmingham for evaluation. He is currently back home in Mooresville, NC. I spoke with both Richie and his wife Lisa on a couple of different occasions today and Richie is doing well, said Max Siegel, president of global operations for Dale Earnhardt, Inc. He was released today from the hospital and he’s back home getting some rest. He will undergo further evaluation and precautionary testing next week.(DEI PR)(10-7-2007)
