Joe Gibbs Racing announced it has entered into a sponsorship agreement with Southern Farm Bureau Insurance Company of Jackson, Mississippi for the 2008 racing season. Farm Bureau Insurance will make its initial entrance into NASCAR as a primary sponsor of the #18 Nationwide Series team. The Farm Bureau Insurance #18 car will make its debut at Atlanta followed by events at Darlington, Kentucky, Daytona, Richmond and Texas. The driver lineup will consist of Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano.(MCG Sports PR)(11-23-2007)
AND: As soon as officials at Joe Gibbs Racing heard the rumor that Nationwide was looking at doing something in NASCAR, JGR made NASCAR aware of its relationship with Farm Bureau. They explained the relationship and showed NASCAR signed copies of the agreement. NASCAR alerted Nationwide, and Nationwide and NASCAR have been very willing to work through this preexisting contract. JGR cannot renew the Farm Bureau sponsorship in the NASCAR Nationwide Series beyond 2008, but they can move the sponsorship to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.(JGR team spokesman)(11-29-2007)
