Childress auctioning ‘Intimidator’ Camaro: UPDATE:

A highlight on the auction block of the 2008 Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event will be “The Intimidator,” a one-of-a-kind Richard Childress ’69 Series 3 Camaro that honors the accomplishments of Childress with NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt. The Intimidator ’69 Series 3 Camaro is scheduled to roll onto the main stage Jan. 19 at approximately 7:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The bidding for this one-of-a-kind vehicle can be seen live on SPEED. To pay homage to the #3 Chevy made famous by Dale Earnhardt Sr., Richard Childress joined forces with Total Performance, Inc. to build the ’69 Series 3 Camaro. The car crossing the block in Scottsdale will be Serial #3 and the only one with the official title of “The Intimidator” – a total of 50 ’69 Series 3 Camaros will be built over the next three years. The buyer, Jimmy Richardson, principal of Colson Park Capital, Inc., in Hickory, N.C., also has ties to the famed No. 3 GM Goodwrench teams.
