Herd Racing LLC, a Nationwide Series team based in West Virginia, has announced that it will pool its resources for the 2008 race season with Day Enterprises in an effort to introduce fans of Marshall University to racing. The team will enter its Dodge Charger race car featuring driver Brett Rowe in this weekends Carquest 300 at Lowes Motor Speedway. The car will carry the #05 and will feature sponsors from both Herd Racing and Day Enterprises, the teams announced. We found the sponsorship hunt to be much tougher than we anticipated it would be, said Herd Racing President Dana Tomes. Brett was already driving for Day Enterprises and he has a good relationship there so it just makes sense for both teams to work together this year. Tomes said Herd Racing continues to seek sponsorship in hopes of running full time in one of NASCARs three touring series next season, but a shaky economy has left those plans unclear.
